It’s officially the first of December – where did the time go? It seems no time since I was enjoying my long summer nights, enjoying barbecues and soaking up the rays during our unexpected heat-wave, and now I am cozied up in my onesie with Grey’s Anatomy, lusting over McDreamy and preparing for the Christmas festivities.
On the subject of Christmas, I have been exceptionally organised and already finished my Christmas shopping, leaving me with plenty of time to prepare for my upcoming Christmas parties. With two parties to go to this year, the plan was to bring out the old faithful LBD, but that was until I paid a visit to Liberty Blue on Lombard Street, Belfast.
When I have an occasion, Liberty Blue is one of my first stops, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. My first purchase was a gorgeous dress by Closet, one of my favourite brands in the store. Their fitted bodice and A-Line skirt are so flattering, and the perfect length. But it was the next outfit that truly surprised me.
Although I’m happy with my figure, and don’t have any trouble dressing to suit my shape, I’ll be the first to say that I definitely don’t fall into the ‘Skinny Minnie’ category, and crop tops tend to be something I shy away from.
I brought this into the changing room with zero expectations, expecting to give my mum a laugh at my expense if nothing else. But believe it or not, it turned out to be one of my nicest purchases to date! The high waist of the jacquard midi skirt leaves just enough skin showing to be incredibly flattering, and has definitely converted me to the world of matching two-pieces.
Finally, now that my Christmas outfits were in the bag, all was left was to find a gorgeous pair of party shoes. Being the savvy (ha!) shopper that I am, I managed to find a pair of shoes that will match both outfits, and won’t break the bank either.
So, that is the party season according to Lauren – my bank balance has taken a bit of a beating, but I am officially kitted out. How are you spending the party season? And what will you be wearing?
