Time for a Change

As I sit down to explain my vanishing act from this blog, I almost feel like I’m writing a Dear John letter, and that I might find myself writing ‘It’s not you, it’s me’ at any given moment. But in short, a combination of a hectic life, some unbloggable aspects of life and the demands of a new job have led to me losing motivation, and telling myself “I’ll blog tomorrow” for the guts of three months now. Whoops!

Cliched as it is, I’m making a comeback for 2017, now that the guilt has finally got the better of me, and now that I’ve realised just how much I miss being creative, but with the return of the blog comes a few changes. First off, due to the continuing demands of my day job, and the fact that my life is basically a whirlwind of work, salsa dancing and Zumba classes, I am taking a step back from the events side of blogging and heading in a slightly different direction – a change is as good as a rest, as they say!

Where does that leave us, I hear you ask? In short, with LOTS of photography, a sprinkling of travel (dependent on how often I can flee the country!), lots of lifestyle, more theatre, book, concert and movie reviews and possibly a little bit more of an insight into the scary place that is my brain. In the midst of my disappearing act, I also put my big girl pants on and bought an apartment, so I may also dedicate a few blog posts to the world of adulting!

It may be slightly contradictory to my namesake, but rather than an ode to the events I attended, where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, I’d like to broaden the scope of my blog to be able to comment on life, popular culture and trending topics – all without becoming a diary entry. I don’t ask for much, do I?

Now that I’ve FINALLY taken the plunge and dipped my toe back into the world of blogging, I plan to be MUCH more present, which given my abysmal record of late, wouldn’t be difficult at all. So stay tuned!
